This is also known as Darling’s disease, is a disease caused by the fungus Histoplasmacapsulatum. Symptoms of this infection vary greatly, but the disease primarily affects the lungs. Occasionally, other organs are affected; this is called disseminated histoplasmosis, and it can be fatal if untreated. Histoplasmosis is common amongAIDS patients because of their lowered immune system.

You need to find a company that not only cane get rid of bats but knows all the techniques on how to trap, how to catch & how to net bats but actually do a permanent bat exclusion and attic cleanup including the replacement of soiled insulation from your attic .

Bats & Rabies

Also known as hydrophobia is a viral zoonotic neuroinvasive disease that causes acuteencephalitis (inflammation of the brain) in mammals. It is most commonly caused by a bite from an infected animal, but occasionally by other forms of contact. If left untreated in humans it is usually fatal. In some countries it is a significant killer of livestock. The rabies virus makes its way to the brain by following theperipheral nerves. Theincubation period of the disease depends on how far the virus must travel to reach thecentral nervous system, usually taking a few months. Once the infection reaches the central nervous system and symptoms begin to show, the untreated infection is usually fatal within days. In the beginning stages of rabies, the symptoms are malaise, headache, and fever, while in later stages it includes acute pain, violent movements, uncontrolled excitements, depressions, and the inability to swallow water (hence the name hydrophobia). In the final stages, the patient begins to have periods of mania and lethargy, and coma. Death generally occurs due to respiratory insufficiency.

For More on Info on Rabies http://www.cdc.gov/rabies/docs/brochure-bats_and_rabies-full.pdf

Bats are one of the best natural means of insect control and simply killing bats to correct a bat problem and in the case of endangered bat species illegal by federal and state law.

We know how to trap , we know how to get rid of bats we are professional bat exclusion specialists. We also provide Bat Removal Services.

Most nuisance bat problems are the result of poor home maintenance or neglect by the builder. Builders have little knowledge of how to prevent the entry of bats , and just because a home is water tight for rain does not mean bats, birds and other wild animals can not gain access to your home. We provide a very thorough inspection of your home and in addition to identifying a bat problem and corrections we also will inspect your entire property and suggest changes to the habitat on your property in addition to looking for bat access points.

We provide bat exclusion services that actually do no harm to bats and allow bats to leave an not regain access to your home, business, barn etc and never actually have to handle the bats.

Bats & Maternity

In most species of Chioptera, or Bats the female bats usually have only one offspring per year. A baby bat is referred to as a pup. Pups are usually left in the roost when they are not nursing. However, a newborn bat can cling to the fur of the mother and be transported, although they soon grow too large for this. It would be difficult for an adult bat to carry more than one young, but normally only one young is born. Bats often form nursery roosts, with many females giving birth in the same area, be it a cave, a tree hole, or a cavity in a building. Mother bats are able to find their young in colonies of millions of pups. Pups have even been seen to feed on other mothers’ milk if their mother is dry. Only the mother cares for the young, and there is no continuous partnership with male bats.

Many laws are in place or being put into place in order to protect the continuation of bat species. For many years very little law or regulation was in place and we have seen a decline in bat populations die to bats being removed from homes and their young pups left to die unable to fend for themselves. Maternity periods are related to the latitude or how far north your state is in North America. Typically southern states start earlier and northern states start later.

Choosing to go ahead and have bats completely removed or excluded from a home during maternity season is a very poor decision. Motherless pups wander homes in the absence of their mothers searching for them and usually end up all over the homes attic and wall voids and die. Imagine large someone sticking five pounds of ground beef in various spots around your home rotting and the expense of replacing the walls, insulation and deodorizing your home. Removing all bats, and their young during a maternity season is at most a dice throw and the homeowner often becomes the loser and at a considerable expense.

Listen to your bat professional, let them inspect your bat infestation and determine the best time of year (Before April-May and After July-August) . State laws often dictate safe periods but a visual inspection and counting flights is often the best guide to determine when the pups are flying.

Example: A bat colony which typically has fights of 90 or so bats leaving a home nightly begin to jump to numbers closer to 180. This would indicate a maternal colony of 90 and then a pup for each mother flying. Actual numbers will fluctuate daily and a week or so after an increase in flight sizes is normally the best time to have a complete exclusion of your home. An inspection by a professional is always best before attempting any exclusions.

Bats Myths & Facts

However, bats do not belong in our homes and buildings and this web site is designed to help you understand bats and discern yourself from the many myths about them and finding a qualified professional from the many snake salesmen out there with gimmicks to take your money and laugh all the way to the bank. We know how to get rid of bats by bat proofing your
home, building or structure.

Facts:

1. Bats both large and small are insectivores. Each bat on daily night flight can consumer about 1000 insects an hour or roughly 6000-8000 insects each and every night. This is simply the best natural pest control we have on earth and every bat if handled properly can be returned back to the wild and help us keep all the bug populations down.

2. Bats are not vampires and there is no reaosn to fear them. Myths have been running around for centuries that they can become entangled in your hair and it is far from the truth. Bats have a built in sonar like capability called echo location and can in mid flight remove a tiny mosquito flying. They also know exactly where you are and will avoid any contact with you. They may get close to
your face but they are not trying to harm or frighten you.

3. Bats are flying mammals and live in colonies if you see a bat resting I am confident a colony is also near by in your attic, soffits, behind shutters or even the hollows of a tree.

4. Bats will bite if handled. They have tiny razor like sharp teeth and should only be handled by a trained professional wearing gloves and exercising care in their handling.

5. Bats are not blind. They are however very light sensitive and are nocturnal mammals.

Please call us for a bat inspection of your home today and make your home bat free today.

What is a squirrel? Is it a cute, furry animal which makes a good pet, or a vile disgusting critter? Or is it just yet another home insurance risk?

At this time of year, it would appear so. As the weather gets colder and the first frosts begin, wild squirrels cannot rely on food supplies from nut trees, household waste any longer and will replace their tree cavity homes for warmer attics . They will search the roof and eaves every square inch and if they are determined enough will either find a entry hole or start gnawing to create one.

The Greater Metro Atlanta squirrel population seeks warmth, security and food inside they can bring in and store them for the winter in our homes instead. This means that, because of a squirrels’s natural instinct to gnaw, homeowners are finding bricks, joists, furniture and even wiring and pipes are being chewed.

It’s estimated that rodents-squirrels, rats, mice are responsible for around 30 percent of household fires as well as structural damage and damage to household contents.

David McLeod, owner of Georgia Wildlife Services, said tiger snakes, which are native to the southwest and Central America, are very dangerous.

“They are real toxic,” he said. “Even if you survive the bite, the greatest risk is losing parts of the body like fingers, hands from the death of the tissue.”

McLeod said he has removed pythons and other large snakes, along with raccoons, bats and other critters from many north Georgia homes. Snakes are one of the hardest animals to catch, he said.

“They have a slower metabolism rate so they spend the bulk of the time digesting meals,” he told the AJC. “If it catches a large rat, it may go two-three weeks without a meal.”

That digestion and nap time is usually spent curled up in a dark hidden place, like under a bush or furniture.

“A search for a snake like that is tough because you first got to locate all their hiding places, looking in all kinds of cracks and crevices,” he said.
